How to tie the Anchor BendPass one turn round the post and then a second turn. Keep the second turn slack. Pass the bitter end round the standing end and through the first round turn. Continue round the standing end and finally tuck the bitter end under itself to complete the Anchor Bend.

More details about the The Anchor Bend
Uses: The Anchor Bend is also known as the Fisherman's Bend (ABOK # 1841, p 309). It is an excellent knot to use for attaching an anchor line to an anchor.
Comparison: It is very similar to the Round Turn and Two Half Hitches, so similar that it is doubtful if there is much benefit in using one knot over the other. If either knot were being used to secure an anchor line to an anchor, most people would add an extra one or two half hitches. Many would also seize the bitter end to the standing end for additional security.
