WearAndTear Rope Burn Wear Pads

Stainless Steel Protection for your Fiberglass.

Self-Adhesive Sheets Prevent Rope damage.

Recently developed to protect fiberglass gel coat from rope burns. Where rope chafes against a fiberglass edge, consider using a stainless steel wear pad. These pads are flexible and will wrap round most simple curves.

A new idea for those who hate to see their beautiful cockpits and cabin sides damaged by the careless use of sheets and furling lines.

The WearAndTear pad is a simple, long lasting solution to prevent a gel-coat suffering from rope burn. Typical areas subject to unsightly visual damage are cockpit sides and cabin tops.

Easy to fit and visually attractive in polished stainless steel, each pad unobtrusively protects your gelcoat surface.

Construction.

The WearAndTear pads are laser cut sheets of ultra thin (0.002"), corrosion resistant, 301, stainless steel supplied with a high quality self adhesive 'double sided' tape. The pad can be fixed semi-permanently to any flat or curved surface provided that the curvature is uni-directional: the material will not stretch to accommodate more complex shapes.

Fitting WearAndTear pads.

When fitting pads around radii of less than 2", it is recommended to pre-form them to suit the curvature of the application area. This will minimise the risk of de-lamination caused by the springiness of the stainless steel.
